Aaron Ruelas Killed in Accident at Triumph Foods Pork Processing Plant in St. Joseph, Missouri


Joseph, MO – A Texas truck driver lost his life in an accident Friday morning at the Triumph Foods pork processing plant in St. Joseph.

According to local authorities, the incident occurred within the fenced area of the plant at 5302 Stockyards Expressway. Aaron Ruelas, 39, of Santa Maria, Texas, was fatally struck by a utility truck while it was attempting to hitch to a trailer.

The utility truck driver stated he did not see Ruelas behind him when he reversed to connect the trailer. Ruelas was employed by a trucking company based in East Prairie, Missouri.

No additional details have been released.
