Jose Isabel Hernandez Dies in a Water Well Accident at the Manadas Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant on Tejas Loop in Laredo, Texas

Laredo, TX – A construction worker at PLW Waterworks died while working at the Manadas Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The incident happened Thursday morning.

According to Laredo authorities, 70-year-old Jose Isabel Hernandez was working inside a well when it unexpectedly filled with water, leading to his drowning.

A former employee of PLW Waterworks, who wished to remain anonymous, mentioned previous incidents at the site.

OSHA is looking into the cause of the incident.
