Henderson Bicyclist Dies After Accident with a Garbage Truck in Henderson, Nevada

Henderson, Nev. – A bicyclist died after being struck by a garbage truck in a road construction zone on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred on West Warm Springs Road near Parkson Road.

The garbage truck and the bicyclist were traveling eastbound on Warm Springs, where barricades closed the bicycle lane.

According to police, the bicyclist attempted to maneuver between a barricade barrel and the garbage truck. The bicycle’s front tire hit the base of the barricade, causing the rider to fall into the truck’s path. The truck’s rear tires ran over the bicyclist.

The 23-year-old bicyclist was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in serious condition but later died from his injuries.

The identity of the bicyclist has not been released.
