One Dead and Eight Injured in a Chain-Reaction Accident Involving a Dump Truck on Highway 12 in Santa Rosa, California

Santa Rosa, Calif. — A collision on Highway 12 in southwest Santa Rosa resulted in one fatality and several injuries on Thursday. Officials declared  the scene a “mass casualty incident.”

According to reports, a dump truck loaded with dirt failed to stop at a red light on Fulton Road. The truck collided with the back of a line of vehicles, causing a chain-reaction crash involving ten cars.

One person died, and eight others were transported to the hospital with injuries ranging from mild to moderate.

No further details have been released.
