One Injured in a Semi-Truck Tire Blowout Accident Off Highway 249 Near Zora in Joplin, Missouri

Joplin, Mo. — A tractor-trailer crashed after it experienced a blowout of its left steer tire. The incident happened Monday afternoon on Highway 249 near Zora.

According to reports, the tire blowout caused the vehicle to veer across the median and northbound lanes before resting in a field.

The driver of the semi-truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

No additional details have been released.

Truck drivers have a right to be safe while on the job

When a tire on a commercial truck suddenly fails, it can seem like just a case of bad luck. However, many truck accidents in the U.S. are caused by faulty tires, not mere chance. These tires pose significant dangers and should never have been allowed on the road. If a defective tire causes an accident, the tire manufacturer is liable for injuries or fatalities that result.

We have dealt with numerous cases where a tire blowout was caused by a flaw in its design or construction. These issues originate from the manufacturer who permitted a defective product to reach the roads.

We are currently representing a family who lost a husband in a tragic accident near Anderson, South Carolina, under very similar circumstances. Our client was driving his 18-wheeler across the country when a sudden tire failure led to a devastating crash. In our investigation for the surviving wife, we discovered clear defects in the tire that caused the blowout: that tire should have never left the manufacturing facility.

Litigating cases involving tire defects demands specific knowledge and experience due to the complexities involved. With over thirty years of practice handling tire-related accident cases, our firm has successfully helped hundreds of victims hold tire manufacturers accountable for injuries caused by faulty tires.

We must always appreciate the hard work our truck drivers put in. They spend extended periods away from their families and give up the comfort of their homes to deliver the goods we rely on daily. These committed individuals deserve to be safe on the roads, which serve as their second home. Truck drivers, indeed, are the backbone of America.
