Semi-truck Driver Hospitalized After Crash on Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon, Colorado

Glenwood Springs, Colo. –  A semi-truck driver was hospitalized after his vehicle overturned. The incident happened on Interstate 70 on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the semi-truck was traveling westbound when it overturned and fell from the upper to lower-level lanes, blocking both eastbound lanes.

Emergency responders transported the driver to a nearby hospital for treatment.

No additional details have been released.

Semi-truck crashes need to be investigated

When a semi-truck overturns on the highway, it leaves everyone searching for answers. The driver, now hospitalized, needs to focus on recovery. Meanwhile, authorities and professionals must step in to uncover what really happened.

Overturned trucks don’t always mean driver error. We’ve seen cases where mechanical failures or manufacturing defects caused these massive vehicles to lose control. In one instance, we represented a family after a commercial vehicle’s tire blew out, causing a fatal crash. Our investigation revealed the company had repeatedly inflated an underinflated tire instead of replacing it, putting profits over safety.

Trucking companies hold key information that can reveal the true cause of a crash. They have access to the driver’s training records, hours of service logs, dash cam footage, and crucial data from the truck itself. This data can show speed, braking patterns, and steering input in the moments before the accident.

But trucking companies don’t always share this information willingly. They might try to minimize their liability or push for quick settlements. That’s why the tools available during litigation, like depositions and vehicle inspections, are so important. They help uncover the full story.

Getting to the bottom of what caused this crash isn’t about placing blame. It’s about finding the truth, helping those affected get the answers they deserve, and preventing similar accidents in the future. We hope everyone impacted by this incident gets the support and clarity they need during this difficult time.
