Tire Blowout Attorneys File Lawsuit Against Bridgestone and Tire Retailers Following Texas Car Accident

The lawsuit alleges that a defective tire manufactured by Bridgestone failed catastrophically, leading to a rollover crash of a Ford Explorer SUV.

According to the complaint, the left rear tire of the Explorer experienced a sudden and unexpected tread separation while the vehicle was traveling on the highway. This alleged tire failure caused the driver to lose control, sending the SUV off the road where it rolled over multiple times. Sadly, one occupant suffered fatal injuries in the crash while another sustained serious harm.

The lawsuit claims that Bridgestone was negligent in the design, manufacture, and testing of the tire in question. Specifically, it is alleged that the tire had defects that made it prone to tread separation, especially as the tire aged. The complaint states that Bridgestone failed to adequately warn consumers about the risks of using tires beyond a certain age.

Additionally, two tire retailers are named as defendants for allegedly failing to properly inspect the aged tire before mounting it on the Explorer. The lawsuit contends that any reasonable inspection would have revealed that the over 20-year-old tire was unsafe for use.
