Tire Defect Lawyers File Lawsuit Against Goodyear and Ken’s Tire in Fatal Louisiana Truck Accident Case

The Ammons Law Firm has recently filed a lawsuit against Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and Ken’s Tire & Auto Service, LLC following a tragic accident that resulted in a fatality and injuries to other victims. The incident occurred on Interstate 10 and involved a Ford F-350 truck experiencing a tire failure, leading to a rollover crash.

The lawsuit alleges that a Goodyear G647 RSS tire, sold by Ken’s Tire, failed catastrophically while the vehicle was in motion. This tire failure allegedly caused the driver to lose control, sending the truck off the road where it rolled over multiple times. Sadly, one occupant suffered fatal injuries in the crash while others sustained serious harm.

According to the legal filing, Goodyear is accused of designing, manufacturing, and selling a defective tire. The lawsuit claims that the tire had manufacturing defects, including improper belt placement, inadequate liner adhesion, and compromised component bonding. These alleged defects purportedly made the tire prone to tread separation, especially as it aged.

The Ammons Law Firm argues that Goodyear allegedly failed to adequately warn consumers about the risks associated with using their tires beyond a certain age. The lawsuit also contends that Goodyear’s quality assurance systems were ineffective in preventing the production and release of potentially dangerous tires into the market.

Ken’s Tire, the retailer who sold the tires, is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit. The legal action alleges that Ken’s Tire sold tires that were larger than the original equipment specified for the Ford F-350. This size increase allegedly raised the vehicle’s center of gravity beyond design specifications, potentially increasing its propensity to roll during tire failures. The lawsuit claims that Ken’s Tire failed to warn customers about this additional hazard at the time of sale.

The Ammons Law Firm is pursuing various legal claims against the defendants, including strict product liability, negligence, gross negligence, and breach of implied warranty. The lawsuit seeks compensation for the victims’ families, including damages for loss of companionship, mental anguish, and pecuniary losses.
