Honda Recalls Defective 2024–2025 ADV160 Scooters Due to Accident Risk


April 15, 2025 — American Honda has announced a recall of certain 2024 and 2025 ADV160 scooters due to a mechanical defect that could lead to a sudden loss of drive power.

The issue stems from the oil pump driven gear, which may wear prematurely because of a design flaw and improper finishing on related engine components. Over time, the gear wear can worsen, eventually preventing the oil pump from functioning properly. This can lead to insufficient engine lubrication, piston damage, and possible engine seizure.

If the engine seizes or the scooter loses power during operation, it could increase the likelihood of a crash or injury.
