Contractor Injured in Accident at Water Plant in Cincinnati, Ohio

Cincinnati, OH – A contractor was hospitalized Monday morning following an accident at a construction site at a Cincinnati water plant. The incident occurred at the Richard Miller Treatment Plant in the California neighborhood.

According to Greater Cincinnati Water Works, a large metal attachment from a piece of equipment operated by contractors came loose and fell into an excavation pit, fracturing the worker’s leg.

The individual was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment.

Officials confirmed that the injured worker was part of a construction crew building a 9 million-gallon clearwell at the plant and was not an employee of Greater Cincinnati Water Works.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified.
