David Wills Killed in a Head-On Semi-truck on Ohio 741 in Warren County, Ohio

TURTLECREEK TOWNSHIP, OH — A Franklin man was killed in a head-on crash involving a semi truck Monday morning in Warren County. The crash occurred on Ohio 741, just south of Greentree Road.

Authorities said a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2018 Kenworth T880 semi truck was traveling northbound when it veered off the right side of the roadway. The driver reportedly overcorrected and crossed the center line, striking a southbound 2001 Ford F-150.

The driver of the pickup, 69-year-old David Wills of Franklin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information is currently available.

The family affected by this semi-truck crash deserves the truth and accountability

Crashes like this happen far too often. We recently handled a case in New Mexico where a semi-truck left the road, crossed a dirt median, and slammed into a passenger bus. Several people died, many others were seriously hurt, and countless families were left devastated. Some lost parents. Others lost children. Most had no idea what steps to take next or how to begin seeking accountability.

We’re currently helping a family in Nebraska whose son was hit head-on by a semi while driving home from a work trip through Kansas. The truck veered across the center line and struck his vehicle without warning. In just a moment, everything changed for his parents.

After a serious crash, families often deal with overwhelming loss while the truck driver and company return to business as usual. Unless alcohol or drugs are involved, criminal charges are uncommon. That means civil lawsuits are often the only real option families have to get answers and hold those at fault responsible.

Losing someone in a crash that could have been prevented is one of the hardest things a family can face. My thoughts are with the loved ones affected by the recent crash in Warren County. They deserve clear answers and the opportunity to hold those responsible accountable for what happened.
