Butane Torches Sold on Amazon Recalled Over Risk of Injury or Death


WASHINGTON – More than 30,000 butane torches sold online have been recalled due to safety violations, federal officials announced.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported that approximately 33,650 Sondiko Butane Torches are affected by the recall. The agency said the torches fail to meet mandatory federal standards for multipurpose lighters, specifically lacking the required child-resistant features.

Without these safety mechanisms, the torches pose a risk of serious burn injuries or death to young children.
