Ford Recalls Bronco Sport and Escape Vehicles Over Fuel Injector Fire Risk


Ford Motor Company has issued a recall affecting 33,576 Bronco Sport and Escape model units due to a potential fire hazard linked to defective fuel injectors. The recall follows reports of fuel injectors leaking gasoline, which could come into contact with hot surfaces and increase the risk of engine fires.

The issue arose after a previous recall solution was improperly implemented, resulting in additional engine fire incidents. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the recall on March 26 after receiving reports of fuel injectors cracking and leaking within the engine compartment. At least four fires have been potentially linked to this defect.

Fuel injectors play a critical role in the engine’s performance by delivering precise amounts of fuel for combustion. When compromised, the leakage of gasoline near hot engine parts can lead to dangerous situations.
