One Person Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident Involving Semi-trucks on U.S. 97 in Wasco, Oregon

WASCO, OR – A three-vehicle crash on Friday injured one person.

Authorities report that a commercial semi-truck traveling southbound on U.S. 97 failed to navigate a curve, left the roadway, and collided nearly head-on with another semi-truck and a GMC pickup. The impact caused both semi-trucks to stop and catch fire, blocking the roadway with debris.

The GMC pickup driver was transported to Providence Hospital in Hood River for medical treatment.

No additional information is currently available.

The injured individual deserves full compensation for the losses they have suffered

What happened to cause this terrible accident? While most head-on collisions are caused by driver error (distraction, excessive speed, fatigue), there are instances where mechanical issues such as brake or steering malfunctions or sudden tire failure have contributed to the driver losing control. Did any of those factors play a role here?

If the collision was caused by human error, the driver should not have been behind the wheel. If a mechanical issue is determined to be the cause, the trucking company or manufacturer will have to give an account.

To find out all the factors that led to this incident, we must go beyond the initial police report. Dashcam footage and the truck’s speed and braking data from the black box will provide important information about the events leading up to the crash.

Gathering all the information is needed to hold the responsible parties accountable. The injured will undoubtedly have mounting medical bills and lost wages, and they will experience pain and suffering that will change their lives forever. If another driver’s negligence is to blame, they deserve full and fair compensation for their losses.
