Bicyclist Seriously Injured in an Accident with a Semi-Truck at the Intersection of North Main Street and Bridge Street in Mayville, Wisconsin

MAYVILLE, WI — A 19-year-old woman was critically injured Monday afternoon after being struck by the trailer of a semi-truck while riding her bicycle in Mayville. The incident occurred at the intersection of North Main Street and Bridge Street.

According to initial reports, both the bicyclist and the semi-truck were traveling southbound on North Main Street when the collision occurred.

The woman was transported by Flight for Life to Aurora Summit Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The semi-truck left the scene following the crash. A witness followed the vehicle out of town and provided information to authorities. Officers later located the truck. According to initial interviews, the driver stated that he was unaware of a collision having occurred.
