BOULDER, Colo. – Outdoor equipment maker C.A.M.P. has recalled its Nimbus Lock Carabiners after discovering a defect in the automatic closing mechanism that could prevent the gate from securing properly. This creates a risk of serious injury or death from a fall.

  • Products sold individually and in packs:
    • Nimbus Lock 3 Pack
    • Locker Draw KS
    • Energy CR3 Pack
    • Energy Nova Pack
(Only the carabiners are included in the recall)
  • Units with the following batch numbers: 10 23, 12 23, 02 24, 09 24, 10 24, 12 24, 01 25, 02 25, and 06 25
  • Batch numbers are located on the side at the bottom of each carabiner

The products were sold nationwide at REI, Portland Mountain Shop, How Not 2, and other outdoor retailers, as well as online through Camp-usa.com, Backcountry.com, Amazon.com, REI.com, Mountainshop.net, and Hownot2.com from January 2024 through July 2025, with prices ranging from $16 to $86.
