Werner Recalls Defective Multi-Max Pro Ladders Due to Risk of Falls and Injuries


Greenville, PA — Werner Co. has announced a recall of certain 20-foot and 24-foot Multi-Max Pro multi-purpose ladders due to reports that the locking mechanism may jam and fail to secure, creating a risk of falls.

The recall covers silver ladders with a blue top and side rail label marked “MULTI MAX PRO” and the model numbers ALMP-20IAA or ALMP-24IAA. The ladders also feature a long black rope in the rear section.

The affected ladders were sold at Home Depot stores nationwide and through HomeDepot.com between November 2021 and February 2024, with prices ranging from approximately $200 to $281.

There have been 18 reported falls linked to the product, with injuries including head trauma and fractures to the wrist, leg, and ribs.
