Stellantis Recalls Defective Ram Heavy Duty Trucks Due to Incorrect Brake Warning Light that Can Lead to an Accident

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) has announced a recall of nearly 2,900 Ram Heavy Duty trucks due to a noncompliance issue with federal safety standards.

The recall involves certain 2026 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, as well as 3500, 4500, and 5500 Chassis Cab models. According to the manufacturer, some vehicles may have been equipped with an incorrect 3.5-inch instrument panel cluster that displays the ISO brake system symbol rather than the federally required “BRAKE” warning light.

Because the incorrect light does not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 101, drivers may not be properly alerted to critical brake system issues, increasing the risk of a crash.

The affected vehicles include approximately:

  • 2,453 Ram 2500 trucks built between May 6, 2025, and July 31, 2025
  • 352 Ram 3500 trucks built between July 4, 2025, and July 31, 2025
  • 69 Ram 3500 Chassis Cab models built between April 3, 2025, and July 31, 2025
  • 11 Ram 4500/5500 Chassis Cab models built between April 4, 2025, and July 31, 2025
