Bestway (Hong Kong) International Ltd Recalls Nearly 866,000 Defective AirJet and HydroJet Spa Pumps Due to Fire and Death Risk


Bestway (Hong Kong) International Ltd., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced the recall of approximately 866,000 AirJet and HydroJet spa pumps due to a fire hazard.

The spa pumps can overheat during use, potentially igniting the plastic housing and posing a serious fire risk.

At least three fires linked to the affected pumps, including a house fire in Kansas City, Missouri, resulted in one fatality. An additional seven incidents are currently under investigation.

The recall includes spa pump models sold under the SaluSpa, Coleman, and Hydro-Force brand names. These units were either packaged with inflatable spa liners or sold separately.

The recalled pumps include model numbers P05332, P05339, P05711, P05807, P07000, P07001, P05511, P07034, and P07572. Each unit is marked with the “Bestway” logo and model number on a label located on the side or back of the pump.

The spa pump systems were sold online and in stores nationwide through retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Walmart, Sam’s Club, QVC, RuralKing, Spreetail, and Bestway USA, priced between $400 and $790.
