Santiago Jimenez Seriously Injured in a Semi-truck Accident on Peters Road in Darke County, Ohio


DARKE COUNTY, Ohio — A 28-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries after a rollover crash involving a semi-truck in Darke County on Thursday.

According to reports, a 2010 Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling west on Peters Road when the driver failed to yield the right of way. A pickup truck driven by Santiago Jimenez struck the semi and overturned, coming to rest on its side in a ditch.

Jimenez was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

Serious Injuries Demand Justice and Accountability

Serious injuries mean a long road ahead for this young man, who was doing everything right on his morning drive yet ended up getting hurt. Collisions with a commercial truck can change a person’s life in a matter of seconds. Mr. Jimenez and his family deserve answers and accountability for what happened.

Unfortunately, crashes like this happen too often. The FMCSA’s Large Truck Crash Causation Study (LTCCS) highlights that failing to yield or stop at intersections is a recurring cause of truck accidents.

This crash was entirely preventable. The driver ignored basic traffic laws, and the company for which they worked failed to train and supervise its employee properly, allowing unsafe driving practices to continue. Now, they are attempting to avoid accountability.
