Vivohome Recalls Allegedly Defective Adult Portable Bed Rails Due to Entrapment and Asphyxiation Hazards

WASHINGTON — Vivohome has announced a recall of its adult portable bed rails after federal regulators determined the products violate the mandatory safety standard for adult portable bed rails.

Officials report that the recalled rails pose a serious entrapment hazard. When attached to a bed, users can become trapped within the rail or between the rail and the side of the mattress, creating a risk of asphyxiation. The products also lack the required hazard warning labels.

The recall covers Vivohome-branded adult portable bed rails. The units measure approximately 36.6 inches long, 16.1 inches wide, and 15.7 inches tall. Each rail has four padded metal stand bars and either a wooden top bar (model VH1316-WC) or a metal top bar (model VH1316-WH), both equipped with a red release button that collapses the rail.
