Neaude Recalls Allegedly Defective Adult Portable Bed Rails Sold on Amazon Due to Entrapment and Asphyxiation Hazard

WASHINGTON — Neaude has recalled its adult portable bed rails after federal safety officials determined the products pose a serious risk of entrapment and asphyxiation.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled bed rails violate mandatory safety standards for adult portable bed rails. When installed, users can become trapped within the rail or between the rail and the mattress, creating a risk of serious injury or death. The products also lack the required safety warning labels.

The recall covers Neaude model BR0221SL001 adult bed rails, sold for use on adult beds. The bed rails were available in two designs: one with a silver top rail, silver support columns, blue accents, and a red handle button; and another with a faux wood top rail, silver support columns in a wave design, white accents, and a red handle button.

Each rail measures approximately 37 inches wide and 14 inches high and folds or unfolds by pressing the red handle button.
