Innopower Recalls Allegedly Defective Hawk Climbing Sticks Due to Fall and Injury Risk


Norwalk, Iowa — Innopower has initiated a recall of certain Hawk climbing sticks after determining that the folding steps on these products can bend or fail during use, creating a risk of falls.

The recall covers specific 2014 and 2015 Hawk RAZOR models designed to strap to a tree and provide footholds for climbing. The affected products include the 2085 RAZOR 3PK and 2085-1 RAZOR 1PK, each measuring 32 inches in length, as well as the 2015 2084 RAZOR SHORTMAX 4PK and 2084-1 RAZOR SHORTMAX 1PK, each measuring 20 inches in length. All recalled units attach to the tree using a nylon strap.

Three rectangular cutouts on the underside can identify the recalled steps.

Recalled items include:

  • Hawk 2085 RAZOR 3PK (32 inches)
    • Hawk 2085-1 RAZOR 1PK (32 inches)
    • Hawk 2084 RAZOR SHORTMAX 4PK (20 inches)
    • Hawk 2084-1 RAZOR SHORTMAX 1PK (20 inches)

Multiple reports have been received involving steps that failed during use.
