Sportsman’s Guide Recalls Allegedly Defective Guide Gear Ground Pop-Up Hunting Blinds Due to Fire Hazard


WASHINGTON — Sportsman’s Guide has announced a recall of its Guide Gear Ground Pop-up Hunting Blinds after determining that the products pose a fire hazard.

According to safety officials, the blinds were manufactured with non-flame-resistant materials, increasing the risk of fire during use.

The recall covers two styles of Guide Gear pop-up blinds:

  • The Ground Pop-up Blind, which features a spring-loaded steel frame and a camouflage 150-denier nylon exterior. It includes a full-side zippered door, three full-zip windows, and four porthole-style windows with shoot-through mesh. When assembled, the blind measures approximately 60″ x 60″ x 66″. It folds down to 24″ x 2″ and fits into a black backpack-style carry bag, weighing roughly 14 pounds.
  • The Magnum Spring-Loaded Steel Hunting Ground Blind, measuring about 84″ x 72″ x 78″ when assembled. This model folds to 24″ x 4″, fits into a black backpack carry bag, and weighs about 20 pounds.
