Demlar Recalls MoonSoll and Magic Chems Fuel Bottles Due to Serious Risk of Flash-Fire


WASHINGTON – Demlar has issued a recall for select MoonSoll and Magic Chems ethanol fuel bottles after federal safety officials determined the products violate required safety standards and pose a significant flash-fire risk.

According to the recall, the fuel bottles do not contain the flame-mitigation devices mandated under the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act. Without this protection, vapors can ignite suddenly, creating the risk of a dangerous flash fire. The bottles also fail to meet labeling requirements under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act, as they incorrectly state that the contents are “Non-Toxic.”

The recalled products include MoonSoll-branded ethanol and Magic Chems-branded bioethanol fuel commonly used for tabletop fire pits, fireplaces, stoves, and burners. The clear containers feature a red or green cap and were sold individually or in packs of three in 500 mL and 1000 mL sizes. The brand name and capacity appear on the front label.
