Pedestrian Killed in a Florida Turnpike Accident Near Southwest 8th Street After Being Struck by a Tractor-Trailer

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A pedestrian was killed Saturday morning after being struck by a tractor-trailer along Florida’s Turnpike in Miami-Dade County, according to state authorities. The collision occurred in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike near Southwest 8th Street.

According to reports, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway when the incident happened.

Troopers stated that as the individual made his way on the roadway, he was struck by an approaching tractor-trailer. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity has not been released.
