Kawasaki Recalls Multiple Allegedly Defective Motorcycle Models Due to Engine Failure Risk


FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. — Kawasaki has issued a recall for several motorcycle models from the 2024–2026 model years after determining that certain engines may fail during operation.

According to the company, the problem stems from the #5 metal crankshaft bushing, which can seize and lead to sudden engine failure. Riders could experience an unexpected loss of power, creating a safety hazard.

The recall applies to the following models:

  • Ninja ZX-6R
    • Ninja ZX-6R KRT Edition
    • Ninja ZX-6R KRT 40th Anniversary Edition ABS
    • Ninja ZX-6R ABS
    • Ninja ZX-6R KRT Edition ABS
