Woman Killed in an Accident Involving a Parked Semi-Truck Near the Intersection of Gonzales Road and Harbor Boulevard in Ojai–Oxnard Area in California

OXNARD, Calif. — A woman was killed in a crash involving a parked semi-truck in the Ojai–Oxnard area on Wednesday, authorities said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Volkswagen Passat sedan was traveling westbound on Gonzales Road when it struck a semi-truck that was stopped on the shoulder near the intersection of Gonzales Road and Harbor Boulevard.

After the impact, the Volkswagen overturned and came to rest in a nearby farm field. Investigators said the driver, a 45-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Public roadways are not where trucks should be parked or stopped
