Ikuso Recalls Allegedly Defective Safety Gates Due to Serious Injury or Death Hazard


WASHINGTON — Ikuso has issued a recall of its pressure-mounted safety gates sold on Amazon after federal regulators determined the products violate the mandatory safety standard for expansion gates and enclosures.

Authorities report that a child’s torso can fit through the gap between the gate slats and the side wall, creating an entrapment hazard that could result in serious injury or death.

The recall includes white steel Ikuso-branded gates sold in two adjustable size ranges: 30 to 48 inches (model Door-Gen1-123) and 30 to 63 inches (model Door-Gen1-159). The name “Ikuso” appears on the top latch, and the model numbers are printed on labels attached to the side post beneath the latch.
