HEWITT, Texas — Two people were taken to the hospital Monday afternoon following a crash involving a semi-truck on northbound Interstate 35 in Hewitt.

According to authorities, a Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling west on Surrey Ridge Lane failed to stop at a posted stop sign, crossed the median, and entered the main lanes of I-35, where it struck a concrete barrier. A Dodge Durango traveling northbound then collided with the truck.

The driver of the Dodge Durango was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
