Bryanna Cox Killed in an Accident with a Garbage Truck on U.S. 33 in Violet Township, Ohio

Violet Township, OH — Authorities have identified a 33-year-old Marysville woman who died Friday morning in a crash involving a garbage truck on U.S. Route 33 near Pickerington Road Northwest.

Bryanna Cox was driving an eastbound Nissan Versa when a garbage truck driver attempted to turn west onto U.S. 33. The truck struck Cox’s vehicle in the eastbound lanes.

The Ohio Highway Patrol reported that Bryanna Cox was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash.

No additional details have been released.

Family Members Deserve Answers and Accountability for Their Loss

This tragedy is a harsh reminder of the dangers posed by large commercial vehicles when safety protocols aren’t strictly followed. Garbage trucks, with their size and limited maneuverability, require careful operation and vigilant oversight. When companies fail to prioritize safety—whether by bad driver training, poor vehicle maintenance, or negligent policies—the consequences can be fatal.

This is an incredibly challenging time, and my thoughts are with those who are grieving. Losing a loved one in a preventable crash is a tragedy no one should endure. I sincerely hope those responsible are held accountable and that the families affected find the justice and answers they need.
