Accident With Semi-truck on Interstate 94 in Stark County, North Dakota, Leaves One Dead, Multiple Injured

Stark County, N.D. – A crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle on I-94 left one person dead and multiple others seriously injured on Monday.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the collision occurred when the driver of a Kia Optima carrying eight occupants was slowing down when a Freightliner semi-rear-ended the vehicle.

Authorities confirmed that a 33-year-old female passenger in the Kia succumbed to her injuries. The 30-year-old male driver and three adult passengers, including one man and two women, sustained serious injuries. Four children in the vehicle were also seriously hurt.

No additional information has been released at this time.

Recent Truck Crash Highlights Critical Need for Trucking Company Accountability

The recent Stark County collision on I-94 ended with one life lost and multiple serious injuries, including four children. This crash, like many we investigate, raises serious concerns about commercial trucking safety.

Our experience shows a concerning pattern in rear-end collisions involving commercial trucks. After thorough investigation, cell phone use or other driver distractions frequently emerge as root causes. What’s more troubling is that trucking companies consistently acknowledge understanding these risks, yet fail to take meaningful preventive action.

Responsibility extends beyond individual drivers. When trucking companies repeatedly fail to implement basic safety protocols or properly supervise their drivers, they must be held accountable. Those injured or killed in these crashes deserve full compensation for their suffering, and companies that consistently endanger public safety should face appropriate consequences.

While legal action cannot undo the harm, it serves two crucial purposes: providing necessary support for affected families and compelling the trucking industry to prioritize safety over profit
