Five Injured After Accident Involving a Semi-Truck on Highway 59 in Live Oak County, Texas


Corpus Christi, Texas — Five people were hospitalized following a crash Wednesday night in Live Oak County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Preliminary reports indicate that the crash occurred when a westbound 2019 International 18-wheeler on Farm to Market Road 624 failed to yield to a northbound 2016 Ford F-350 pulling a personal utility trailer on Highway 59. The pickup collided with the side of the semi-truck during the incident.

The 58-year-old driver of the Ford F-350 was airlifted to a hospital in Corpus Christi and remains in critical condition. Four other passengers, including a 61-year-old woman, a 49-year-old woman, a 21-year-old woman, and a 10-year-old girl, were also transported to the hospital with injuries described as less severe but significant.

Authorities noted that injuries among the vehicle occupants included a possible skull fracture.
