Ford Recalls 240,000 SUVs Over Faulty Seat Belt Anchors


Ford has issued a recall for approximately 240,000 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator SUVs due to improperly secured seat belt anchors, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

A loose seat belt or buckle may fail to properly restrain occupants in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

The recall affects 2020 and 2021 model-year vehicles, including about 216,000 Ford Explorers and 24,000 Lincoln Aviators. Beginning in late March, Ford will notify vehicle owners and instruct them to visit a Ford or Lincoln dealership for an inspection. If the anchor bolts are found to be improperly secured, the components will be replaced at no cost.
