Loose Truck Tires: A Growing Danger on Our Roadways

It’s frightening to think that a routine workday can turn catastrophic in an instant, leaving families to cope with serious injuries and uncertain futures. While many might view these incidents as freak accidents, the reality is far more troubling.

We’re handling similar cases across the country that highlight this growing problem. In Idaho, a 70-year-old woman was struck near her home by a wheel that detached from a passing semi-trailer. In another case in Texas, a detached tire crashed through our client’s windshield, causing catastrophic injuries.

These incidents share a common thread: They occur because basic safety protocols aren’t being followed. Wheels don’t simply fall off properly maintained vehicles. Regular inspections, proper maintenance, and thorough repairs are essential to prevent these devastating crashes.

The passing of Mr. Rose shows how these preventable accidents forever change lives. His family deserves answers about why this happened and assurance that those responsible will be held accountable.

Until trucking companies and vehicle operators take their maintenance responsibilities seriously, more innocent people will continue to lose their lives on our roadways.
