Porsche Issues Two Recalls for 911 Models on the Same Day

Porsche has issued two separate recalls affecting the 911 sports car, impacting vehicles from the 2023 and 2025 model years. According to filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), both recalls address distinct issues affecting a total of 1,157 vehicles.

One recall involves 2023 Porsche 911 models produced between February 17, 2023, and September 13, 2023. Affected vehicles—approximately 279 in total—may have improperly secured rear seat belt buckles due to mispositioned aluminum butyl mats used for soundproofing and vibration reduction. Over time, these mats could interfere with the rear seat belt bolts, potentially loosening them and increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

The second recall affects 878 examples of the 2025 Porsche 911, the first model year of the updated 992.2 generation. The issue involves a software error in the ā€˜BCM1’ control unit, which may cause the driver’s side low beam headlight to lower by -0.57 degrees when the rear fog light is activated at speeds below 37 mph. This adjustment results in excessive glare for oncoming drivers, violating federal photometric regulations and potentially increasing the risk of an accident. Porsche will update the control unit with a revised data set to correct the issue.

Owners will receive official recall notifications via mail starting April 11, 2025. For additional information, Porsche customer service can be reached at 1-800-767-7243. The recall reference number for the headlight issue is ASA1, while the seat belt recall is listed as ASA0.
