Setsmart Recalls LoGest Climbing Ropes Due to Risk of Breakage and Falls


Setsmart has issued a recall for approximately 22,500 LoGest Climbing Ropes with Carabiners and LoGest Climbing Ropes with Heavy-Duty Metal Hooks due to a potential fall hazard. An additional 350 units were sold in Canada and 25 in Mexico.

The recall affects climbing ropes made of hemp, available in lengths of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 50 feet. The LoGest Climbing Rope with Carabiner features a silver “D” ring and a silver climbing carabiner, while the LoGest Climbing Rope with Heavy-Duty Metal Hook includes a blue stripe along the brown rope and a black metal hook secured with silver bolts. Both models have “LoGest” printed in large white letters on black plastic at the rope ends.

There have been 13 reports of the ropes breaking, including one incident resulting in a severe spinal cord injury.

Consumers are advised to stop using the ropes immediately, remove them, and register for a full refund at www.LoGestRopeRecall.com.
