Toyota Recalls 168,000 Sienna Minivans Over Seat Back Safety Issue

Toyota has announced a recall affecting approximately 168,000 Sienna minivans due to a potential seat back defect. The recall includes vehicles in North America, Asia, and other global markets.

According to the automaker, the issue stems from bolts securing the split 60/40 third-row seat backs, which may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the affected vehicles do not meet specific safety standards.

“A seat back in this condition may not function as intended, increasing the risk of injury to occupants,” Toyota stated.

The recall applies to select Sienna models from the 2021 to 2025 model years. Toyota has advised owners to check for recall notifications and contact authorized dealers for inspection and necessary repairs.
