Construction Worker Killed Accident in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey

Egg Harbor Township — A construction site accident claimed the life of a 23-year-old worker Tuesday afternoon at a property located on Hingston Road. The incident happened Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Egg Harbor Township Police Captain, the incident occurred when a roofing crew was cleaning up after demolition and construction work at the Club at Tilton.

The site features two second-floor staircases that merge halfway down into a single staircase leading to the ground level. A concrete slab at the merge point collapsed onto the worker as he cleaned beneath it.

Emergency responders from Township EMS and AtlantiCare Paramedics transported the injured worker to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus in Atlantic City, where he underwent emergency surgery. Despite medical efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity, pending notification of his family.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been notified.

The surviving family deserves to know what went wrong

Tragic accidents like this happen too often because of a lapse in safety protocols.

The deceased’s family deserves to know what safety precautions were present at the worksite and what happened to cause this preventable accident to occur.

Those in charge of construction sites play an essential role in fostering a safe work environment. This entails proactive measures, including proper site organization, providing workers with suitable safety equipment, and training on best safety practices. We are handling a case now where the people in charge of safety told different crews to go back to work when it was not safe to do so. Our client fell nearly 20 feet, miraculously surviving. One wrong call can change lives forever. ON the other hand, putting safety first safeguards the welfare of everyone.

When companies don’t follow the rules, and someone gets hurt, it is important to hold them accountable. Those who act negligently need to take responsibility for their actions.

Our hope is that the surviving family will find the answers they need and the support they need to move forward during this challenging time.
