Gail Moore Killed in a Semi-Truck Accident on U.S. 42 in Ashland County, Ohio

Ashland County, OH – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a semi-truck that claimed the life of a 77-year-old woman on U.S. 42 near State Route 603. The incident happened Thursday evening.

Authorities report that Gail Moore was driving a maroon 2003 Honda CRV southwest on U.S. 42 when a blue 2022 Peterbilt semi-truck with a flatbed trailer was exiting a private driveway and attempting to turn northeast onto U.S. 42. Moore’s vehicle struck the left rear of the trailer, which was partially obstructing the southwest lane.

Moore was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No additional details have been released.

Semi-trucks Cannot Obstruct Lanes

The family of the deceased deserves to know the truck driver’s actions right before the collision. Did the trucker wait for a safe gap in traffic, check for other vehicles, and take their time before turning?
