The Ammons Law Firm has filed a lawsuit against Steelman Logistics and other defendants following a serious collision between a commercial truck and a pickup truck in Harris County, Texas. According to the lawsuit, a semi-truck owned by Steelman Logistics allegedly failed to yield the right-of-way while making a right turn from a stop sign, causing a collision with a Dodge RAM 2500 pickup truck.
The lawsuit claims that the commercial truck driver operated the vehicle negligently by allegedly entering the intersection when it was unsafe and failing to yield to oncoming traffic. The incident occurred at the intersection of Crosby Freeway service road and Sheldon Road when the semi-truck allegedly turned into the path of the southbound pickup truck.
The legal action alleges that Steelman Logistics is vicariously liable for the driver’s actions under the doctrine of respondeat superior, as the driver acted within the scope of employment at the time of the incident. Additionally, the lawsuit includes claims of direct negligence against Steelman Logistics for failing to properly train and supervise the driver.
The lawsuit further alleges that Steelman Logistics knew or should have known that the driver was operating a commercial vehicle without adequate training and supervision. The complaint states that the trucking company failed to implement proper safety protocols and training procedures that could have prevented this type of accident.
According to court documents, the collision resulted in serious injuries to the occupant of the pickup truck, including physical pain, mental anguish, and physical impairment. The lawsuit seeks compensation for medical expenses, both past and future, along with other damages resulting from the alleged negligence of the defendants.
