Richard Howell Killed in Three-Vehicle Accident Involving Semi-truck on State Highway 349 in Midland, Texas


Midland County, Texas —A three-vehicle collision on the State Highway 349 and State Highway 158 Overpass claimed the life of an Odessa man on Thursday morning.

Preliminary reports indicate that a Kenworth truck with a trailer, was traveling westbound on SH 349 at an unsafe speed for the icy road conditions. The truck driver lost control and veered into the eastbound lane, colliding with a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 57-year-old Richard Howell of Odessa and a Dodge Ram 1500.

Howell was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dodge Ram driver did not sustain injuries.
