Three Injured in Accident Involving Semi-Truck and Ambulance in West Englewood, Illinois

West Englewood, IL – A crash at the intersection of 63rd Street and Ashland Avenue on Saturday morning left three individuals injured after a semi-truck struck an ambulance responding to an emergency call. The accident happened Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, the ambulance overturned and landed partially on two nearby vehicles.

A 64-year-old patient in the ambulance, along with the drivers of two other vehicles involved in the crash, were transported to the hospital for treatment. All three are reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities issued the semi-truck driver a citation for failing to yield to the emergency vehicle.

Those injured in truck crashes need answers and help to recover the money they need to move forward

Whether due to lack of experience, distraction, or disregard, large trucks continue to cause accidents by ignoring basic safety traffic rules like yielding the right-of-way. In 2018 alone, trucks failing to yield caused 226 fatalities (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration). Truckers who cause serious injuries or death by violating safety road laws need to be held accountable for their negligent actions.

Gathering all the facts is essential to holding the responsible parties accountable. Holding responsible parties accountable after a loss is crucial for justice and for helping prevent future tragedies like this from happening in the future.

Many states allow surviving families and victims of truck accidents to seek compensation for damages, such as medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering—even when fault is shared. That’s why it’s critical to understand your rights and the legal process to pursue justice for injuries or the loss of a loved one.

However, not all attorneys are equipped to handle cases involving trucking companies. These cases require someone with deep experience who won’t settle for quick payouts or allow blame-shifting tactics. Victims deserve an attorney who will stand by their side every step of the way, fighting for the justice and compensation they need to rebuild their lives.

I hope the injured recover fully and find the guidance and support they need.
