Deandre Hall Killed in a Machinery Work Accident at the Sunshine Canyon Landfill Facility in Granada Hills, California

GRANADA HILLS, Calif. — Authorities have identified the man killed in a fatal machinery accident at a landfill facility in Granada Hills on Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the Sunshine Canyon Landfill in San Fernando, where a piece of heavy equipment had overturned.

The victim was identified as 28-year-old Deandre Hall. Preliminary reports indicate that a backhoe may have fallen onto another piece of machinery Hall was operating at the time, resulting in his death.

Cal/OSHA has been notified.
