Apollo Recalls Defective 2024 City Electric Scooters Due to Risk of Fall and Injury


WASHINGTON, D.C. – Apollo has issued a recall for its 2024 City electric scooters due to a manufacturing defect that could lead to serious injuries. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the scooters may have a weld line that can crack, potentially causing the stem to break during use.

The recall affects specific serial numbers of the dual-motor Apollo City scooters, which can reach speeds of up to 32 mph. The scooters feature a gray frame, headlight, rear brake light, and are marked with “Apollo” on the stem and “Apollo City” on the rear left side of the deck’s grip tape.

The impacted serial numbers range from 4202240300001 to 4202240301236 and 4202240400001 to 4202240400764. The serial number can be found on the underside of the scooter deck or accessed through the Apollo App.

At least one injury has been reported.
