509 Recalls Over 200,000 Defective Helmets Due to Risk of a Head Injury


WASHINGTON, D.C. — More than 200,000 helmets sold under the 509 and 509 for Polaris brands are being recalled due to a risk of head injury.

The affected helmets do not provide adequate protection in the event of a crash, posing a serious safety risk to riders. The recall includes approximately 201,200 helmets in the United States and an additional 26,800 in Canada.

The recall covers multiple models, including the Tactical 3.0 (Youth, Mountain, and Trail), Tactical 2.0 (including those with Fidlock® systems), Altitude 2.0, Delta R3L, Delta R4, Delta V, and Mach series helmets.  Impacted units range in size from youth small to adult 4XL and come in various colors.

Affected products were manufactured between 2020 and the present, depending on the model.
