Honda Recalls Over 65,000 Defective Vehicles Across 23 States Due to Risk of Rollaway and Injury

Honda is recalling more than 65,000 vehicles across 23 states due to a defect that could cause certain models to roll away while in park.

The recall impacts an estimated 65,115 Honda Accord vehicles from the 2013 model year. The issue involves a driveshaft that may corrode and break, particularly in states where road salt is commonly used during winter months. A broken driveshaft could lead to a sudden loss of drive power or allow the vehicle to roll away if parked without the parking brake engaged, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

The recall has been assigned campaign number 25V422000.

Vehicles included in the expanded recall were originally sold in a range of states, including Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio. Other affected states are: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia.
