Total Saddle Fit Recalls Defective Western Cinches Due to Risk of Rider Falls and Injuries


SANTA ANA, Calif. — Total Saddle Fit has issued a recall for certain Western-style saddle cinches after reports that the product may fail during use, potentially causing the saddle to detach and leading to rider falls.

The recall affects Shoulder Relief Cinches sold before August 2021. These leather cinches, available in black and brown, were designed to help keep saddles securely in place. Affected models measure between 24 and 36 inches in length and are marked with the Total Saddle Fit brand name near the buckle. Only cinches with a round buckle and no center elastic are included in the recall.

The company has received 19 reports of the cinch separating during use, resulting in saddles slipping or falling. One incident involved a rider who suffered fractured ribs.
