Areson Recalls Defective Rolanstar 6-Drawer Dressers for Risk of Injury or Death to Children


WASHINGTON, D.C. – Areson has issued a recall of its Rolanstar 6-drawer dressers sold exclusively on Amazon.com, following a warning from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) over serious tip-over and entrapment risks that could lead to injury or death, particularly among children.

According to the CPSC, the dressers fail to meet multiple safety requirements mandated under the STURDY Act, a federal regulation designed to reduce the dangers associated with unstable clothing storage units. Testing revealed that the dressers can tip over when less than 60 pounds of force is applied to the front, well below the safety threshold.

The units also do not meet federal labeling requirements meant to alert consumers to potential hazards.
