TADAKAZU Recalls Defective Baby Loungers Due to Risk of Suffocation

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of TADAKAZU portable baby loungers after identifying multiple safety violations that pose significant risks of suffocation, falls, and infant entrapment.

The recalled loungers fail to meet federal safety standards for Infant Sleep Products. Issues include sidewalls that are too low to properly contain infants, sleeping pads that exceed recommended thickness limits, creating a suffocation hazard, and an opening at the foot of the lounger where infants may fall or become trapped. Additionally, the loungers lack a supporting stand, increasing the risk of falls.

These safety deficiencies create hazardous sleep environments that can result in serious injury or death.

The recalled TADAKAZU loungers feature a cloth cover with foam sleeping pads and padded bumpers. They carry a “TADAKAZU” brand tag on the bumper and were sold under various styles and model numbers, including but not limited to:

  • Beige (TA-BBL-Beige-NEW)
  • Grey-leaf (TA-BBL-GREY-YZ)
  • Pink (TA-BBL-Pink-NEW)
  • Blue (TA-BBL-Blue-NEW)
  • Green (TA-BBL-Green-NEW)
  • Rabbit (TA-BBL-FQQ)
  • Dinosaur (TA-BBL-Pink-DS-NEW)
  • Bear (TA-BBL-Pink-0910-FX)

The loungers were also marketed as “baby nests” and were available on Amazon.
